Chairman J.R. Shaw has acquired 50,000 more shares in Shaw Communications.
The purchase is one of many in recent times for the Shaw family, who have purchased 300,000 common shares of the slumping stock in the past month.
Shaw shares have slipped from a 52-week high of more than $22 to a low of less than $19.

While Amazon doesn't often crop up in the rumour mill, a recent report by Ad Age suggests that the online retail behemoth is considering advertisements on the Kindle Fire's home screen. Today, social network Facebook went public for $38 per share at a total valuation of $104 billion. Founder, CEO, and now multi-billionaire Mark Zuckerberg rang the opening bell for the Nasdaq from his company's headquarters in Menlo Park, California, this morning. Naturally, he was wearing his signature hoodie.
Facebook is selling 421,233,615 shares of common stock to raise $12 billion in capital. This is the largest technology IPO in history. Under the ticker symbol "FB," Facebook shares are currently up over 5% to more than $40, pushing the company's valuation to $110 billion.

Samsung has received an astonishing nine million preorders for the Galaxy S3, according to a report from the Korea Economic Daily this morning.
The third-generation smartphone will launch across more than 100 global carriers, starting in Germany on May 29 before rolling out to North America and other regions of the world in June.

Samsung has commenced construction on the first Samsung branded store in Burnaby, just outside of Vancouver.
Located in the Metropolis at Metrotown, Metro Vancouver's biggest shopping mall, the Samsung store is designed to help Canadians "pursue their passions with an exciting new way to experience and interact with Samsung’s line up of mobile, personal computing, and consumer electronics products in a standalone retail location," according to the company.
