Hello, my name is Dorian and I am keenly interested in systems. The kinds of systems I find the most interesting are those in which people coordinate together to learn, teach and make things. We can call these kinds of systems information or knowledge systems, or even organizations or communities. What I do is design new systems, or come up with ways to make existing ones work better.

Much of the work I do is with computer software, as software is uniquely helpful for working with information. Much of the software I work with is on or around the Web, as it is uniquely useful for teaching, learning, communication and business. I have been working with this medium professionally for about a decade — first as a visual designer, then as a programmer, and now as an advocate of user experience and overall system design.
