Varun Mathur

Varun Mathur is the Techvibes Community Manager in Toronto, focused on covering local tech startups, news and events. He is also a Co-founder and Product Manager at Zytran, a Toronto-based web startup which developed and launched - a personal news aggregator (Alertle's version 1.0 got widespread global coverage, with reviews written about it in various tech blogs and in over a dozen different languages; with version 2.0 slated for release in early '09). Varun has also worked at Merrill Lynch as a Technical Analyst and at another Toronto web startup called GTA Locator as a Project Leader.

Over the past several years, Varun has been an active volunteer with TiE Toronto, which is a local non-profit focused on promoting entrepreneurship in the region by organizing various events and an annual business plan contest called TiEQuest.
