The Ottawa Centre for Research and Innovation has announced the finalists for the 2010 OCRI awards yesterday.

Whittling down 86 nominations to 36, the awards will recognize the achievements of people, organizations and companies in Ottawa.

“The outstanding submissions made the decision making process quite challenging for the committee. The sheer number of success stories that are profiled in these entries clearly indicates that Ottawa continues to produce world-class technology and innovation,” said OCRI president and CEO Claude Haw in a press release.

“On behalf of the selection committee and our vibrant knowledge-based community, I would like to congratulate all of the nominees for their hard work and commitment to excellence.”

This year sees the addition of five new categories: Strategic Partnership, Research, Health Innovation, Student Entrepreneur and High School Innovation.

The ceremony will be held Thursday, April 8th at Hilton Lac Leamy.

The full list of nominees is available on the OCRI news blog.
