77% of Canadians Support Increased Wireless Competition

A recent survey commissioned by Wind Mobile found that 77% of Canadians who own a cellphone believe that the increase in wireless competition from the new entrants—Public Mobile, Mobilicity, etc.—has been positive. 54% feel that wireless prices have come down in the last 2 years.

Furthermore, 86% of mobile device-touting Canadians agree that there are more choices available for mobile phone service plans now than there were two years ago. And 74% feel that they have more freedom without contracts.

"It has always been our vision that Canadians would feel the positive impact of real wireless competition and we are very proud to have ushered in this new reality," said Anthony Lacavera, CEO of Wind Mobile and Globalive Holdings. "Our customers are at the heart of everything we do which is why we've decided to put them front and centre in our new campaign. Even before we launched we listened to what Canadians wanted from their wireless carrier and we committed to deliver on what we heard. This campaign gives a voice to those consumers who spoke up and to who we have listened to."
