A fourth Apple store launches in BC this weekend (first 1,000 customers get a t-shirt)

Often Apple announces new stores well in advance—it's one of the few things they do inform the public on early. But for some reason, this one has been a well-kept secret. Still, people started noticing things and now Apple has issued an official email: B.C's fourth Apple store is launching this weekend in Metropolis at Metrotown in Burnaby.

On September 15th, @MetropolisatMet started it all with the tweet, "Mark your calendars, the new Apple Store will open on September 24th." However, this tweet was very quickly deleted.

It's past the point of denial now, and Apple sent out an email this morning:

The Apple Store, Metrotown, will be open soon so you can shop, test-drive our products, ask questions, attend free workshops, and much more … if you’re one of our first 1000 customers, you’ll take home a free commemorative T-shirt.*

Metropolis is the largest mall in B.C. (bigger than Pacific Centre, where Apple's first store launched) and the second largest in all of Canada. There are also Apple stores in Richmond and Oakridge.

The store opens at 10am.
