Accelerate Okanagan has taken over metabridge, a nonprofit organization created to help Canadian startups foster direct connections with Silicon Valley technology partners for investments, strategic partnerships, and mentorship opportunities.
The Kelowna-based AO will now run metabridge's annual executive retreat, which typically happens in June and consists of interactive presentations, round table discussions and multiple VIP networking sessions.
“We have worked closely with the AO team over the past few years and are excited to add their firepower to metabridge," says Steve Wandler, the founder of metabridge. "This is an exciting opportunity for metabridge and AO to join forces and maximize the impact of their efforts in support of Canadian entrepreneurs.”
"We’ve watched the growing success of metabridge over the past five years and we're thrilled to formalize a relationship that will help foster the continued growth of the Canadian startup and entrepreneurial ecosystems," said Jeff Keen, CEO of AO.
“By giving metabridge a permanent home at AO, we will be able to centralize resources, leverage the incredible networks that both AO and metabridge have developed over the years and provide an unparalleled level of support to founders and CEOs of startup technology companies," he added.
Metabridge will host its sixth annual event this year on June 12 and 13 in Kelowna.
Accelerate Okanagan supports the growth and acceleration of local startups and early stage companies in the gaming, animation, mobile, web, life sciences, and clean energy sectors to commercialize new technologies.
