VEF to Host 'Accelerator Graduates: Who, How and Why' Event on March 26

Posted by Techvibes NewsDesk

Most would agree that accelerators are great. They provide a network, guidance, funding, and perhaps even allow founders to cross that psychological boundary of being a "real company." However, with the number of accelerators that have popped up in the past few years, it's worth noting that not all are created equal and even the good ones don't guarantee success.

So which accelerator should you join, if any? It's a question that will be tackled by an upcoming Vancouver Enterprise Forum event called "Accelerator Graduates: Who, How and Why."

The VEF, which takes place on Tuesday, March 26, will look at the benefits of partnering with academic researchers, government, and Vancouver innovation communities. The event's panel includes local companies who have graduated from an accelerator, specifically those who have collaborated with academic researchers to build their company.

The VEF says that these companies will be asked to share their insights on what services helped accelerate their business and what criteria other companies should consider when selecting an accelerator. The panel will also discuss the types of assistance opportunities available for entrepreneurs and highlight areas where academics can work with industry to address challenges and create new solutions.

Speakers include A Thinking Ape's Wilkins Chung and Mobify's Igor Faletski. Learn more online or register today.
