ADP Canada today announced that Montreal-based colorPlan is the third winner of ADP Canada’s 2014 Small Business Grant Contest.
ColorPlan helps construction companies reduce their estimating efforts and work more efficiently and transparently.
The contest offers entrepreneurs the chance to win a $10,000 cash prize.
Andrei Iancu, founder of colorPlan had the entrepreneurial spirit from a young age, starting with his first business at age 14. His later experience in IT and construction sparked the idea to launch colorPlan. Builders complete estimates the old fashioned way, with pen and paper, which is time consuming and can be riddled with errors.
Andrei and his brother knew there was an easier way and worked with third party software to build cutting-edge technologies and digital tools to provide construction companies with quantity estimates. This saves time and money, improving precision, and reducing the need for paper.
The business is growing as colorPlan demonstrates the benefits to the construction industry of outsourcing their estimates. “The ADP Small Business Grant will allow us to hire a third technician and provide us with the ability to better market our business,” said Andrei. “My business partner and I will now be able to step away from our computers and spend more time growing our client base.”
As part of the Small Business Grant Contest prize, colorPlan will also have its payroll processing fees, up to $3,500, waived for one year.
