Amazon Hiring Aggressively in Canada to Develop Silk Web Browser

Posted by Rob Lewis

Techvibes has learned that Amazon will be hiring agressively in Canada with a number of internal teams expanding their presence in the Vancouver office.

Included in the expansion are two new Amazon teams - Amazon Web Services - Relational Data Services and Amazon Silk- the web browser developed by Amazon for Kindle Fire.

Why Vancouver for a high profile project like Amazon Silk?

The motivation to expand it's development efforts in Vancouver were driven by a couple of factors including the Canada-wide talent pool and the success they've had with the existing Amazon based teams in the city.

To jumpstart the hiring process in Vancouver Amazon will be hosting a social night on Tuesday, July 17th from 7pm to 10pm at V Yaletown (2nd floor of Earls). Register online to attend.
