AndroidTO Has $1 Million in Prizes to be Won

Canada’s largest Android developers conference is poised to hand out more than $1 million in giveaways to attendees.

When AndroidTO hits the Scotiabank Theatre in Toronto on October 17, it will be handing out $1 million in Google Cloud platform credits, as well as a variety of smartphones and tablets from Rogers and Sony, among other prizes.

The event features four session tracks: development, business, design and gaming. With hundreds of tickets already sold and more than 600 Android developers and designers expected, this year’s edition is on pace to be largest and fastest-selling yet.

“The support we’re getting from sponsors is incredible. It just demonstrates how valuable Toronto developers are to these companies,” said Greg Carron, co-chair of AndroidTO.  “It’s awesome that everyone that attends is going to be able to walk away with something. We’re really happy that AndroidTO can continue to support the community in both an educational and fun way."

Speakers at the event will include Collin Wikman, a senior designer at Square; Adam Shutsa, a senior designer at 500px; and Satish Kanwar, director of Shopify Toronto.
