Apple's Senior Vice President of Industrial Design, Jonathan Ive, has received a knighthood, the BBC reported yesterday. Jonathan is now officially a Knight Commander of the British Empire.

Sir Jonathan has been working at Apple since 1992. He is considered a key component of Apple's iconic designs during the past decade.

The 44-year-old design master said that he is "both humbled and sincerely grateful" by the recognition. "This honour is absolutely thrilling," he stated, explaining that "all I've ever wanted to do is design [and] I feel enormously fortunate that I continue to be able to design and make products with a truly remarkable group of people here at Apple."
