Apple Owners Are Highly Optimistic While BlackBerry Owners Are Extremely Negative [STUDY]
Research continues to reinforce the idea that certain types of people consistently wind up choosing certain brands of technology. For example, prior studies have suggested that iOS users tend to have higher incomes and education than Android users. Now, a new survey conducted this week at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas by gadget recycling company Gazelle revealed some more stark differences between the owners of different mobile operating platforms.
As it turns out, iOS users are substantially more optimistic than BlackBerry users, with Android users falling roughly in the middle. According to Gazelle, over half of iOS users "expect the best in uncertain times," while a stunning 0% of BlackBerry users "usually expect the best" and about one-third of Android users are "always optimistic about their future."
One-third of BlackBerry users believe that "if something can go wrong for them, it will," and that they "rarely count on good things happening to them." Meanwhile, well over half of iOS users are always optimistic about their future and a little less than half of Android users "often expect more good things to happen than bad."
iOS users are not just optimistic; they're also calm and social. More iPhone and iPad owners said they "don't get upset too easily" than Android or BlackBerry owners, and two-thirds "enjoy their friends a lot," again the most.
"Who knew that Apple users had such a promising outlook on life, while BlackBerry owners hardly expect things to go their way?" said Israel Ganot, co-founder and CEO of Gazelle. "Our survey aimed to celebrate the passion many at CES have for their gadgets and the latest and greatest trends in consumer electronics. One of the reasons for the rapid growth of the reCommerce industry is that many have recognized the value possessed by used electronics and the lucrative benefits of trading in one's gadgets for cash."
