OK Apple fans. The long awaited debut of the Apple Tablet is upon you.
According to the Financial Times, Apple has rented the stage at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco in late January. While both Apple has made no comment about the event, sources familiar with the event say that Apple plans to make a significant product announcement early next year.
The device is expected to be announced in January, where it will then go into mass production and be sold a later in the year. Very little is known about the device itself, but it is expected to have either a 7 or 10 inch screen. It is also expected to look like a blown up iPhone. It’s been reported as well that the tablet has been developed under the close eye of Steve Jobs himself.
Assuming the information is true, it could mean one of two things will happen in January, but either way it means further confirmation of an Apple tablet.
The first is if Apple decides to have a public demo event where they unveil to the world the new Apple tablet.
The second possibility is that the event will be a private demo to give developers a preview so they can get a jump on developing apps.
So, what are your thoughts? Is this another game changer for Apple?
Oh I can't wait. Love the idea of a tablet.
The cable cutting game changer arrives!
One thing we know for sure: Anyone who really knows what's coming from Apple, isn't talking. Anyone who says they do know, doesn't.
That said, I can't wait to see what Apple's version of the Kindle is going to look like
Thanks for the comments!
Knowing the type of innovation that Apple is famous for, I agree that it will be INTERESTING to see what they have up their sleeves!
Happy New Year everyone!

These guys know what they are doing. Imagine that the thing can appear in may guises, not just straight tablet form, but say, as a very capable and connected navigation system with attached GPS, car mounted or otherwise. Perhaps in the same format, but in a protective jacket that lets it go back country. All sorts of things come to mind.
I will be very interested in looking at this machine when it debuts.
Jeffrey,
Thanks for your commentary. You're right. The sky is the limit with the Apple tablet. Hopefully, when it comes out you can read about it here!

I agree with Karim. Apple are innovators. Interesting to see how the market reacts. Tablets are not new - they have been out for some time, but they really haven't caught on as mainstream. Hopefully though it wont be another Newton.
