Apple’s iPhone 5S and 5C to be Compatible with Wind Mobile and Mobilicity

Out of Wind Mobile’s 650,000 wireless subscribers, only about 3,000—or less than 0.5%—are iPhone users.

This could change dramatically when Apple ships two new smartphones, the new flagship iPhone 5S and its mid-tier counterpart, the 5C, this Friday. That’s because unlocked iPhones of this new generation (such as those purchased from Apple’s site, not a carrier) will be compatible with Wind right out of the box. Customers only need to buy a $25 nano-SIM from Wind.

The new iPhones will also be compatible with Mobilicity, Videotron, and Eastlink thanks to the devices’ new support of AWS networks.
