Apply for FounderFuel this week and follow these tips to get in

Montreal based startup accelerator FounderFuel is recruiting teams for its spring 2012 cohort but you only have until the end of the week to apply.

Startups selected by FounderFuel get instant access to a network and ecosystem to accelerate the success of their businesses, not to mention up to $25K in seed funding. During the 12 week program, teams work out of historic Notman House - a high-octane environment supported by over 100 mentors and advisors. The program culminates on Demo Day, the grand finale event where each team presents to an audience of over 500 people including investors from Canada, the US and Europe.

FounderFuel General Manager Ian Jeffery provided Techvibes with a couple tips for startup teams when submitting their applications:

  • Don't wing it. This may sound obvious, but this is our first exposure to you so have a look at the form, copy the questions in a separate doc and work on your answers before submitting the application.
  • It's all about you. Focus your application heavily on the team behind the idea. Your background and how you present yourself is what we look at first, so take at least as much time working on this as you do on the section about your product. Make us understand who you are and why you're the best team for the challenge.
  • Shoot videos. We strongly encourage video submissions. We don't care so much about the quality (although it does help), but this is a great way for us to get to know you more.
