AVAC hosts Paul Kedrosky in Calgary

by Rob Lewis | Business

Yesterday Calgary's AVAC hosted their annual reception at the Deerfoot Inn yesterday and renowned investor, speaker, writer, media guy and entrepreneur, Paul Kedrosky was their feature speaker. Kedrosky's presentation was titled Scar Tissue All the Way Down: VC 2.0, and the Ride of the Super Angel and addressed angels who want to invest and entrepreneurs who want to innovate and commercialize.

The interactive event was an excellent opportunity to meet and network with AVAC investees who have taken the leap to innovate and commercialize.

The Calgary Herald's Dina O'Meara was in the audience and spoke with Kedrosky as well as a handful of the 18 AVAC investees including IntelliView and Cleankeys.

Initially seeded with $35 million from the Alberta Government and $10 million from Agriculture and Agri-food Canada, AVAC has since grown its investment funds significantly with additional Provincial contributions of $79 million, including the IVAC Initiative, rolled-out in 2007.
