BarCampVancouver2007 This Weekend

BarCamp is only a couple sleeps away and the city is a buzz. Unlike previous BarCamps a list of potential session topics is being posted online which should allow attendees to do their homework beforehand. Here are a couple that caught my eye:

  • 1100 Stacies: How to Do Good With the Web - Darren Barefoot (a revised version of his Gnomedex talk)
  • Facebook Applications: Performance and Creativity in a Digital Playground - Phillip Jeffrey
  • Social Media for Parents - sharing photos, videos and audio with your family and friends - Roland Tanglao

Everything kicks off this Friday at 6:30pm with an open bar at the Alibi Room followed by a sleepover at Workspace. Saturday's all day unconference runs from 8:30am to 5:30pm with breakfast pastries and coffee served first thing and pizza delivered at noon.

Lots of folks have worked hard to make Barcamp Vancouver 2007 happen, so be sure to thank the volunteers that are making this event possible. And one last word from James Sherrett: "Barcamp lives in the relationships between all of us. All of us make it happen. So come to the unconference ready to rock and help us all kick some ass."
