Battledecks, otherwise known as "full contact Powerpoint," once again stole the show at DemoCampVancouver04 today at Workspace in Gastown. Each contestant has to improvise a presentation based on a previously created PowerPoint that they haven't seen. Comedic results are expected but not compulsory.
Linda Bustos did a sterling job of dealing with a complicated jumble of random flowcharts and banana-related imagery crafted by Tod Maffin, and Jordan Behan made a valiant attempt to change meaningless aphorisms and pictures and abstract art into something intelligible, but in the end had to concede victory to the Bustos Battledecks Juggernaut.
Indeed, I was outmatched. But as they say...there's no shame in losing to the best.
But don't think I won't be challenging her to a rematch, once I've had a few more months of training.
I'm loading up on potassium even as we speak.
