BC Innovation Council partners with Bootup Entrepreneurial Society

Supporting their strategic direction that includes building a network of business accelerators to rapidly grow early stage technology companies, the BC Innovation Council has partnered with the Bootup Entrepreneurial Society to promote the commercialization of digital media technology in BC.

"Bootup Entrepreneurial Society fulfills an instrumental role in the acceleration of technology startups to competitively position British Columbia in today's global technology space," said Dean Rockwell, CEO of BCIC. "BCIC is committed to driving the commercialization of technologies and we are pleased to partner with BES in their efforts to make our province a desirable place to found and build digital media startups."

The Bootup Entrepreneurial Society hosts regular community networking events such as Democamps and Launch Party Vancouver. In addition, Bootup enables startup founders to learn from and connect with peers, investors and mentors to increase their potential for long-term success.

"BC is in the perfect position to be one of the top digital media technology centers in the world," said Maura Rodgers, Executive Director of BES. "We are excited to partner and work closely with BCIC to help develop and nurture a strong and supportive startup ecosystem."

With the BC Innovation Council's support, Bootup plans to expand its International Mentorship Program to include regular talks and workshops by leading business development and marketing experts from around the world.
