by Liam Britten

The Business Council of British Columbia (BCBC), in association with Stantec, has announced that they will be presenting a series of roundtables, forums and speakers on the subject of leadership and innovation in business.

The BCBC/Stantec Innovation Series’ first event will be all about the future. Entitled “Empowering the Future: Developing the Next Generation of Business Leaders,” the presentation and town hall-style discussion will focus on succession planning, and how turning over the reins of a company presents both challenges and opportunities.

The presentation will highlight generational differences in business and leadership styles in a demographic context, and will be presented by Dr. Angus Reid of Vision Critical and Angus Reid Public Opinion. The town hall forum will be moderated by the CBC’s Jian Ghomeshi [pictured], host and co-creator of Q and Bold TV. As well, some emerging businesspeople will give a Pecha Kucha presentation.

Empowering the Future: Developing the Next Generation of Business Leaders, takes place on December 3rd, 2010, from 2–4:30 p.m. at the Djavad Mowafaghian Cinema at Simon Fraser University, Woodward’s. For more information or to register, visit empoweringthefuture.ca.
