BCIC Announces New President & CEO

The Board of Directors of the BC Innovation Council (BCIC) announced today the appointment of Greg Caws as the organization’s new President and CEO.

Caws replaces John Jacobson who took on the position in August of 2012 but was appointed Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Technology, Innovation and Citizens’ Services in June of 2013.

“We are pleased to have a seasoned technology entrepreneur take the leadership position at BCIC,” said Jill Leversage, Chair. “Greg is a strong leader who has successfully built technology businesses. We think he’s the right person to help BCIC achieve its mandate of building BC’s economy by accelerating the growth of BC tech ventures.”

Caws’ experience spans startups, large corporations, private capital, public service and board governance. He has proven ability to execute complex business plans and drive core objectives to required timelines.

A founder of Enquisite Software, Greg continued to serve in a leadership capacity with the company when it became Eightfold Logic Inc. He has founded and invested in many BC companies and sold the first company he founded to a NASDAQ corporation. His experience also includes serving as CEO and Board Chair for the Vancouver Island Technology Association (VIATeC), Technical Architect for TELUS’s initial digital initiatives and Technology Lead for the 2010 Vancouver Olympic bid.
