Bell's AppSocial joins Bootup Labs to make Seven

Posted by Rob Lewis

The rumours are true. Vancouver tech entrepreneur Ian Bell is taking his AppSocial startup into Bootup Labs this month making the Janaury 2010 cohort seven strong.

AppSocial was among 20 companies selected to pitch the investors and media attending Vancouver’s Fusion Forum in November. Bell made the grade and AppSocial was among the 10 finalists chosen by those investors for follow-on meetings and discussions and then went on to be chosen as first runner-up for “Best In Show” by the investors attending the Fusion Forum

This was the second time in three years that Bell had won the award - previously he took it home for Something Simpler Systems.

Bell has spent time in Silicon Valley with Cisco and has worked on some really cool services over the years including BuzMe, GeekMail, RingCentral, Internet Call Director, and EQO.
