Who is Canada's Best New Startup?

Finalists have been selected for this year's Canadian Startup Awards and voting is now open.

Here's a quick rundown of the three finalists competing for the title of Best New Canadian Startup of 2012.

FRANK & OAK

Montreal-based Frank & Oak is an online retail startup that launched in February 2011. The company designs and manufactures its own clothing and offers a savvy subscription service featuring free shipping and returns. Frank & Oak said in October that it has experienced double-digit, month-over-month growth since launch. Has raised $5 million.

CINEMAGRAM

Montreal-born Cinemagram is an iOS app that turns photos into animated GIFs in a matter of seconds. The startup raised $8.5 million in a Series A round. Real Ventures' JS Cournoyer suggested that the startup could be the next Instagram, which Facebook acquired last year for more than $1 billion. Cinegram was adding 100,000 new users per day in late 2012.

HUBBA

Toronto-based Hubba has been flying under the radar since its launch last year. The understated startup provides a data sharing platform that gives brands, retailers, and agencies the power to manage and share their consumer-ready product information. Hubba recognizes that consumers want and expect to know more about products than ever before, which the startup enables through its comprehensive platform.
