This year's edition of the Biggest Web Development Companies in BC are highlighted in a BIVlist in this week's Business in Vancouver newspaper. Last year we (and our readers) were a little critical of the quality of the research that went into putting together the Top 25 - sure BIV picked up the usual suspects like Blast Radius and Habanero but they seemed to have trouble defining the category. VP Jason Smith of Vision Critical event took the time to weigh in and withdraw his company for the list.
Looks like the BIV research staff took notice - you'll only find 9 of last year's Top 25 on the list again this year. Not sure why MovieSet and Destiny Media Technologies are considered web development companies though.
Same drill as last year - feel free to comment if a correction is needed. And if your Web Dev shop was missed - no matter how small, give it a shout out in the comments.

Some of these numbers look a little suspicious to me. How were these numbers collected? I'm looking at the list and seeing some companies with inflated numbers.
Nitobi. 14.
And 12 are software developers. In a pinch Andre can write code too. ;)
Numbers are always flaky. Elastic Path is somewhere around 100 FT staff + 20 FT contract. We added a ton over the summer though, maybe the data was collected a while ago.
It's cool to see the growth of the companies - I actually had no idea that some of those shops were so big.
We have two people so far - woohoo!
Rebecca:
That's twice as big as my web shop!
We were contacted to verify data and we specified how many current employees we have full time and part time + contractors. We are 23 full time salaried employees but the list says 27 which wood include part time/contract.
2Paths. 14. If the software business ever dries up, each and every one of us is a talented Barista so the back up plan is to work for Cafe Artegianno.
