Programming Bootcamp Bitmaker Labs has teamed up with Toronto startup FinanceIt to offer financing options to successful Bitmaker Labs course applicants.
The news come on the heels of FinanceIt’s announcement of receiving $13 million in Series A funding last week.
"At Bitmaker Labs it's always been our mission to spread programming literacy and the entire team here is ecstatic to be able to offer financing opportunities to anyone who's accepted into our program. By offering different financing options we feel that we'll be able to increase the diversity of our classroom and eventually the industry itself by providing top-tier programming knowledge to individuals who were previously unable to access it.", says Bitmaker Labs co-founder Andrew Mawer.
Upon acceptance into the Bitmaker Labs programming bootcamp, applicants will have access to financing at a competitive interest rate and an option to choose amortization periods of 12 - 60 months, with longer terms available.
According to Bitmaker Labs they are the only programming bootcamp in North America to introduce financing options to students by teaming up with another startup. Unlike other education financing resources such as Coder Loan, the joint effort between Bitmaker Labs and FinanceIt is exclusive to individuals who have been successfully admitted into the Bitmaker program.
“Having already added some extremely talented Bitmaker grads to our team, FinanceIt is thrilled to join Bitmaker Labs in its mission to strengthen the Canadian startup and coding community. As both FinanceIt and Bitmaker Labs grow, we hope to extend the opportunity to learn how to code to anyone who simply wants it by providing flexible and easy to access financing.”, says Paul Sehr, CTO at FinanceIt.
Since launching in the spring of 2012 in Toronto, Bitmaker Labs has taught over 100 people how to program and is currently hosting its 4th cohort.
Applications are now open for the January 2013 intake, with full financing options available. Successful female applicants will also receive $500 off their tuition cost through the Bitmaker Grace Hopper scholarship.
Both Bitmaker Labs and FinanceIt are hiring in Toronto.
