BlackBerry 10 Expects to Have 100,000 Apps by US Launch This Week
When BlackBerry 10 launched last month, it had 70,000 apps. By the time it launches in the US later this week, the platform could have up to 100,000 apps, according to chief executive officer Thorsten Heins.
While the quantity of apps is impressive for such a new platform, it's still missing several major apps, including Netflix and Instagram, both whom have said they have no plans to build for BB10.

We at Techvibes argued in a review of the Z10 the operating system's app ecosystem was its biggest weakness, but that if BlackBerry could improve it, the platform would be a legitimate contender against competitors such as Google's Android and Apple's iOS. And while we're impressed that BlackBerry has been able to add 30,000 apps in less than two months, we think just a handful of big-name apps would make an even bigger difference for BB10.
