Last October, the Toronto-based $150 Million BlackBerry Partners Fund announced investments in three mobile startups - buzzd, Digby and WorldMate.

And it looks like BlackBerry's Canadian roots are starting to influence one of these startups. buzzd announced this morning that its popular BlackBerry App is now optimized for Canada and works on the BlackBerry Storm.

buzzd is the top location-based App at BlackBerry App World with over 200,000 downloads in the first 30 days of availability.

buzzd delivers editorially driven event and venue information, along with up-to-the-minute reviews and ratings from other members of the buzzd community. Users can browse and search continuously updated event feeds, which include pricing, location, and event details as well as the firsthand ratings and reviews posted from the event by other members in real-time.

buzzd is based in New York City and backed by Monitor Ventures, Greycroft Partners, Qualcomm Ventures, and of course, the Blackberry Partners Fund.
