BlackBerry PlayBook price tag drops by $200 at Bell and SaskTel
The BlackBerry PlayBook just loves being on sale.
Early in the holiday season, Bell and SaskTel have both slashed the price of RIM's tablet by a whopping $200, bringing the cost of a 16GB model down to $299 ($399 for 32GB and $499 for 64GB).
The sale is expected to last at least 2 weeks, but hey—if you miss it, don't worry; these days the gadget is always on sale somewhere.
RIM shipped a paltry 200,000 units last quarter, a substantial drop from an already mediocre 500,000 units in the first quarter (when it launched). Whether these myriad dramatic price drops drive signficant sales increases or not won't be known until the company's next quarterly report, but let's hope so—even on positive market days, RIM's stock remains down for the count.
