BlackBerry PlayBook to Cost Only $199 on Boxing Day

The BlackBerry PlayBook sales are back. Over the past couple of months retailers have been selling RIM's half-baked tablet for sharp discounts, but most promotions ended last week, bringing the device back up to its full price of $500.

However, with such incredibly poor sales, RIM knows the PlayBook will only collect dust at that price point. Despite losing $500 million due to these discounts, RIM will be at it again starting Boxing Day.

Mobile Syrup revealed a leaked document showing that Telus will be selling the PlayBook for $199 and up, and it's safe to say they won't be the only one offering the device for a deal on Boxing Day and into the new year. So if you don't get one for Christmas, consider scoring one for 60% off.
