bpOver the past little while we have documented Research In Motion's bid to develop and market acompetitor to Apple's wildly successful iPad.

Various online reports point to the BlackBerry "BlackPad" as being more than just a wish now.

China-based hardware manufacturer Quanta is reportedly preparing to ship two million units in 2010 starting in September.  Furthermore, they are scheduled to ship eight million units of the BlackPad in 2011.

When the units will actually end up in consumer's hands is yet to be determined although we can assume that the smart folks at RIM will want to flood the market with these devices in time for the Christmas season.
