Blackout hits BlackBerry users North America wide

A widespread service outage affected BlackBerry users across North America this evening. BlackBerry maker Waterloo-based Research in Motion has confirmed there are some email delays.

A spokesperson for RIM said the company is working to fix the problem, but could give no estimate when service will be restored.

The outage comes on the heels of another BlackBerry email outage in North America that struck on December 17th.
