Blast Radius acquired by WPP Group

Vancouver's own Blast Radius is the latest West Coast digital media company to be bought out by a foreign firm. UK-based WPP has acquired the $50 million, 350 employee company, and will integrate it into its Wunderman marketing services network. According to Wunderman Chairman and CEO Daniel Morel, the Blast Radius acquisition was more about increasing Wunderman's reach than gaining new capabilities. But the online community building experience Blast Radius has built up over its years as an independent may also prove to be a good fit with Wunderman's core relationship marketing strategies.
