Bloggers bolt from Seattle P-I

Posted by Rob Lewis on Mon, September 15, 2008 4:53 PM · Filed under Seattle , Web 2.0 · 2 Comments

Big news in the Seattle tech blogging world - our best source for Seattle start-up stories, John Cook, is leaving the Seattle Post Intelligencer for the Puget Sound Business Journal (PSBJ). Not sure what will come of John Cook's Venture Blog but no doubt they're have to rename it.

Seattle 2.0 is reporting that Todd Bishop and his Microsoft Blog is also leaving the Seattle P-I for the Puget Sound publication.

I'm a little surprised that Cook would leave an old-media publication for another one but it sounds like the PSBJ is trying to jump on the business start-up bandwagon. Landing these too proficient bloggers would be a huge coup and have a lot of readers updating their RSS feed readers pronto.

Hey Rob,

More details here:

http://seattle.bizjournals.com/seattle/tech/

As you can see, there is much more to this than us simply jumping from one newspaper to another.

We are building a new technology news site that incorporates both of our blogs. plus a lot more.

Of course we are super excited about the new venture. Feel free to drop me a line to catch up.

Agreed John - we covered it in more detail here today:

Good luck with the launch - look forward to working with you again soon.
