Konrad Group Revives Historic 460 King Street West for BrainStation HQ

BrainStation announced this week the launch of a new innovation hub to open at the iconic corner of King and Spadina in Toronto.

Originally named the Richardson House, the nearly 20,000 square foot landmark building first opened in 1875 and was most recently home to the Global Village Backpacker’s hostel.

The new innovation hub will uniquely combine three concepts in the single heritage space.

First, it will be the new home and headquarters for BrainStation, Konrad Group’s digital and technology training arm, which offers courses, workshops, and training in web and mobile development, user experience, and user interface design.

This unveiling will also see the launch of BrainStation Spaces, a new shared office space throughout the facility for industry professionals and freelancers to work and be part of the King West community. Features of the BrainStation Spaces offering will include: lockers & storage, a common area & kitchenette, work stations, high speed internet, event space, conference rooms, private phone booths, and a community manager.

Finally, 460 King Street West will bring a unique, premium coffee experience to King West through Quantum Coffee, a cafe nestled in the heart of the building. Quantum will feature cutting-edge, ‘retail of the future’ technology for its customers, including the first app-enabled pour over machine in Canada and an innovative service model which will include mobile ‘order ahead’ payments.
