C100-NE to Host Atlantic Venture Forum in June

C100-NE, based on the C100 organization known for its “48 Hours in the Valley” event, will be hosting a forum in Halifax this June.

The group itself is based in Boston and aims to help Canadian startups succeed in New England. The Atlantic Venture Forum will be a chance for Maritime startups to learn from entrepreneurs invested in the Northeastern US’s thriving startup community.

According to The Chronicle Herald’s Entrevestor, the main difference between the C100 groups is that C100-NE is more interested in life-science startups, with a write-up claiming that “C100-NE members are passionate about leveraging their experience, expertise and relationships to help mentor and grow a new generation of successful Canadian-led technology/life sciences companies.”

The forum will be held annually, bringing together experience, innovation, and investors to fund emerging technologies and ideas. As reported last week, the keynote speaker will be Peter van der Velten, President of the Canadian Venture Capital & Private Equity Association.

The event will take place June 19 and 20 at the Westin Nova Scotian in Halifax. Register on the event website.
