Calgary Events Round-up

Social media events, open source expos and an unconference are some the going's on in Calgary this upcoming week. 

Cybera had their spring event in Calgary this morning. It featured Duncan Stewart of Deloitte and Touche going over his 2009 predictions and engaging with the panelists and audience. Stewart touched on the rise of the smart grid, social networking within enterprise and the penetration of netbooks and smartphones.

In the tradition of DemoCamp, BarCamp and WineCamp we now get Civic Camp, a day long unconference devoted to sustainable living. It happens this Saturday. 

COSSFEST 2009 runs through tomorrow and is an expo where open source enthusiasts can come together and share information about open source software. 

Third Tuesday Calgary ends up on a third Monday this month taking place on April 20. Calgary-based charities Calgary Reads and Brown Bagging It for Calgary’s Kids will each give a short presentation on how they use social media to connect directly with the public.

The Calgary Open Source Group is planning their first meeting on April 21.
