Calgary's Wmode launches AppCarousel for mobile app discovery

Calgary's Wmode announced the launch of AppCarousel this morning.

The AppCarousel platform was created to help brands, publishers, and developers promote their apps while helping consumers discover new mobile apps. Wmode’s Head of Market Development, Terry Hughes, has been appointed as Managing Director of AppCarousel which will based in San Francisco.

AppCarousel allows consumers to easily view and access groups of apps and content targeted to their specific interests or from the brands and organizations they trust. This is achieved by creating visually engaging 3D app carousels they can view on any smartphone, tablet, or desktop. These carousels can easily be shared, leveraging the power of personal recommendation and social networking to aid in app discovery.

“Wmode has a long history of providing solutions for distributing mobile content. As the digital media industry continues to grow at an unbounded pace, AppCarousel is a natural progression of our business,” said Emanuel Bertolin, Chief Executive Officer of Wmode Inc. “The ability for organizations to easily curate and share relevant content with their audience was an obvious gap in the app economy.”
