Canadian Accelerator JOLT Unveils Third Cohort of Startups

Posted by Knowlton Thomas

Jolt, one of Canada's largest accelerators, today unveiled the five startups that comprise its third cohort.

The startups that make up the MaRS DD accelerator are Turnstyle Solutions, xTouch, Raise Your Flag, Cumulonimbus, and LaunchPad.

  • Cumulonimbus Software crowdsources live atmosphere data using Android smartphone sensor and pressureNET, the startup's open platform for sensor data collection. Founded by Jacob Sheehy, Philippe Stuart Jones, and Jared Kerim.
  • xTouch enables almost any surface to become touch-sensitive by placing a mobile device on it. Founded by Amin Heidari, Tusi Chowdury and Parham Aarabi.
  • Turnstyle Solution provides location-based marketing solutions and consumer analytics for retailers and brands. Founded by Devon Wright, Chris Gilipin and Matt Hunter.
  • LaunchPad fundamentally improves how mobile apps are built and managed. It does this by integrating directly into mobile apps and allowing all team members including designers, copy writers and legal to simultaneously control their part of a mobile app. Founded by Aaron Glazer, Andrew Norris, Jonathan Norris and Cobi Druxerman.
  • Raise Your Flag helps students who aren’t going to university or college explore careers that don’t require a degree or diploma and create career plans to gain meaningful employment. Founded by Ryan Porter and Scott Walkinshaw.
