At Techvibes we receive press releases from developers, companies and associations announcing that they have launched a new iPhone App on a daily basis. While some apps are completely commercial in nature, there are some great ones that just don't get the attention they deserve.
Every Friday Techvibes highlights new iPhone Apps that we've heard about. This week we've got two shopping apps to tell you about.
3rdWhale's Find Green App (formerly 3rdWhale Mobile) - Think of it like a green Yelp on your phone. The first green location based service, Find Green helps you make everyday choices to reduce your environmental impact and make a difference! The GPS-enabled service can determine your exact location and find everything from yoga studios to bicycle shops to organic restaurants near you. Find Green's database has been dramatically expanded to offer over 60,000 listings in dozens of categories, in hundreds of cities across North America.
Right Deal, Right Now App - This Vancouver-born app provides discerning shoppers with relevant coupons on-the-go. Rather than bombarding users with an overwhelming number of coupons across a wide geographic area, the Right Deal Right Now App uses a location-based technology that allows shoppers to search for merchant coupons in their immediate vicinity (or within a twenty mile radius). RDRN coupons have a coupon number or bar code that can be accepted at the point of sale - all consumers have to do to redeem a coupon is to show the coupon image at the merchant's store.
If you have an iPhone App built in Canada or built for Canadians, fire us a note and we'll be sure to profile it in an upcoming Canadian iPhone Apps of the Week post.
