Canadian Olympic Committee Uses Toronto Tech to Report on Games
The Canadian Olympic Committee recently relaunched the Olympic.ca site, using ScribbleLive technology by the Toronto-based startup Scribble Technologies.
ScribbleLive is live-blogging and live update tech that enables web page content to refresh without a manual page reload. ScribbleLive users, who include ESPN, Reuters and Rogers, can push tweets and tweet-like updates, live interactive polls, images and videos to their sites, inundating visitors with a firehosed barrage of up-to-the-minute reporting on any given subject.
The subject here is the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, where the Canadian Olympic Committee has been using ScribbleLive to post tidbits about Canadian teams’ prep process prior to the Games.
The first group of athletes under the ScribbleLive microscope was the Ski Cross Team last week. When the Olympics are in full swing, Olympic.ca will open a fan hub with behind-the-scenes coverage, event updates, and photos and videos from fans, reporters, athletes and coaches. It promises to be just like being there, but perhaps without the worrying threat of terrorist attacks that CNN continually reports through their ScribbleLive-enabled website.
