Thousands of Canadian Tire Employees to Get BlackBerry 10 Smartphones

Canadian Tire Corporation announced over the weekend that it has selected Waterloo's BlackBerry as the official smartphone for its corporate team across Canada.

The company says that, at the end of April, employees across its family of companies—including Mark's, Sport Chek, and Atmosphere—will use BlackBerry 10 smartphones as their primary business device.

Canadian Tire is deploying "several thousand units in the coming months," comprised of a mix of Z10s and Q10s, the company says.

"With 90 years of history serving Canadians in communities from coast-to-coast, it's fitting that we're partnering with another great Canadian company to support our business," says Eugene Roman, chief technology officer of Canadian Tire.
