Carrie & Danielle round up some Angels

Posted by Rob Lewis on Thu, April 10, 2008 2:27 PM · Filed under Vancouver , Funding & Exits · Comments

It's been just over three weeks since I covered Dan Gibbons' new gig with Carrie & Danielle and they've already closed a round of angel funding. Carrie & Danielle, Inc. raised an angel investment of $400,000 which is one of the largest rounds of angel funding for a seed-stage consumer Internet company in Vancouver in recent years. Investors include Boris Wertz of W Media Ventures, Geoff Hampson, Kenneth and Charles Vidalin, Mike Rogers and Gibbons himself. Wertz and Gibbons will be joining the board. Proceeds from the funding will be used to build a social media site which complements the personal brand of founders Carrie McCarthy and Danielle LaPorte. Carrie and Danielle's book, Style Statement: Live By Your Own Design (Little, Brown and Company) officially went on sale earlier this week and has already been the #1 seller on Amazon in categories including Creativity, Self-Esteem and Fashion & Beauty. If you'd like to learn more about Carrie & Danielle, be sure to check our their book launch party at the Jennifer Kostuik Gallery in Yaletown on May 15th from 6-9 pm. To request an invitation, send an email to hello@carrieanddanielle.com with the subject line Vancouver Book Launch. Disclosure: Geoff Hampson and Boris Wertz are Directors of Techvibes Media Inc.
