Classtalk could be too good for Facebook

Posted by Warren Frey on Tue, October 23, 2007 11:16 PM · Filed under Vancouver , Events , Facebook · No Comments

One of the apps with the biggest buzz at the Facebook Developers Conference was Classtalk, developed by Arash Sanieyan of PeerGlobe Technology. The app pulls out all the stops and allows students to network through their classes, streamlining the friend-finding process and providing a learning platform for both students and teachers. Many schools in both the United States and Canada are supported by the app. Unfortunately, Facebook's original mission as a social network for the higher education community  has since been replaced by a much wider net of users, so while Classtalk should be an ideal candidate get snapped up by Facebook, it may get lost in the shuffle as the hugely popular site monetizes its enormous audience.
