Cleaning Portal Cleanify Acquires Helpling’s Canadian Operations
Cleanify has acquired the Canadian business of Helpling.
The customer base of Helpling, a Europe-born startup which launched in Toronto in 2014, will boost the Canadian marketshare of Cleanify, which gives professional cleaners the flexibility to set prices and offer services across the service spectrum that includes house cleaning, office cleaning, and carpet cleaning.
Cleanify, founded in Vancouver in 2011, now operates across North America.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Helpling’s cleaners and customers onto our platform,” said Justin Potter, CEO of Cleanify. “Cleanify will ensure that Helpling’s independent cleaners’ businesses are easily discovered, supported, and positioned for rapid growth.”
Cleanify has raised funds from 500 Startups, Kapor Capital, and Great Oaks Venture Capital.
The company has been described as an “Expedia for cleaning companies.” Founded by Justin Potter, Mandy Potter, and Luis Sanchez, the startup aggregates cleaning companies and markets them to consumers online. It’s a $100 billion market, according to 500 Startups.
