Cleankeys attracts $1 million in funding from AVAC

Remember Cleankeys, the Edmonton company with a radical new keyboard that can be disinfected with ease and reduce the spread of infections in places like hospitals?

Well, AVAC Ltd., a private not-profit company that invests in promising early-stage commercial businesses remembered them. AVAC dropped a cool $1 million into Cleankeys today, which will be used to break into the healthcare market, develop sales channels and enhance its product line.

“We've seen tremendous success and results in the dental industry, and hospitals represent the next logical market for us,” said Cleankeys CEO Randy Marsden in a press release. “The AVAC investment will help us capitalize on our growing reputation, and enable us to introduce our infection control keyboard to a much larger health market.”

AVAC is a company that has been investing in early-stage commercial businesses in Alberta since 1997. AVAC focuses on the expansion of Alberta's value-added agribusiness, information and communication technologies, life sciences and other industrial technology sectors.
