Edmonton will soon have a collaborative workspace similar to WorkSpace in Vancouver or the Centre for Social Innovation in Toronto, thanks to the Edmonton New Technology Society (ENTS), a new non-profit organization with a mission to make Edmonton better through technology.
They’ve come together really quickly over the last two months, and already have 55 members signed up and a space in mind. Located near MacEwan downtown, the space will be broken into two sections: an office space for programming, writing, and other desk-oriented activities, and a “dirty” space for experimenting with hardware, robotics, and other things.
Here’s a photo of the office side of the space:

If all goes according to plan, ENTS will move in by the end of the month.
I’m really excited about this – I think it’ll be a great addition to the tech scene in Edmonton. For more information, check out my feature on ENTS.
