tabEarlier this month we broker the story that Samsung's tablet device, Galaxy Tab, would be coming to Canadian shores this month.

Yesterday, Samsung issued a press release announcing the "upcoming Canadian availability of the Samsung Galaxy Tab, Samsung's first mobile tablet device."

Paul Brannen is the vice president of Samsung Mobile Canada:

The addition of Galaxy Tab to the Galaxy product portfolio is a powerful proof point of Samsung's commitment to bring new and innovative mobile experiences to Canadian consumers.  The 7-inch display and thin, lightweight design, combined with premium content and productivity tools makes the Galaxy Tab a true mobile tablet that is as comfortable to use standing on a crowded train as it is relaxing on the couch at home.

Later in the day, Rogers communications issued a statement on their RedBoard blog:

As the Canadian carrier with the most tablet customers, we’re excited to carry the Samsung Galaxy Tab on Canada’s reliable network.

With the popularity and success of Samsung's recent Galaxy mobile products, the Tab is sure to be a hit in Canada.
