Sortable Spins Out CPUBoss, a Simple Way for Canadians to Find Their Perfect CPU

If you’ve ever spent any time researching CPUs, you know it can be both time consuming and confusing. It is seldom immediately clear what the difference is between an Intel Xeon E5-2690 and an AMD FX 6200. That’s where CPUBoss comes in.

The Waterloo-based website, which spun out of Canadian startup Sortable, is a user friendly approach to finding the perfect CPU for your specific need, from desktops and laptops to servers and even mobile devices.

“We knew there had to be an easier way, so we retreated to the batcave and began creating CPUBoss.com to solve the ‘what CPU should I get’ problem,” the company explains. “CPUBoss is useful because it captures a massive amount of specs, benchmarks, and reviews data, and organizes it in one central place as a one-stop-shop for CPU research.”

CPUBoss enables users to search for CPUs by various criteria, including clock speed and value; see summarized CPU features and benchmark data; compare CPUs head-to-head; and aggregrate reviews of CPUs from across the web—and do it all in a visually clean fashion. There’s also a discussion forum to ask your own particular questions and have them answered by CPU enthusiasts.
