Crisis Communication by General Motors - A Case Study

This past weekend Chris Barger of General Motors presented at PodCamp Toronto at Ryerson's Communication Centre.  Chris is the Director of Social Media for General Motors.

During his session Chris outlined the process his team took during the bancruptcy process that GM underwent:  Everything from live tweeting court rulings to engaging with local bloggers.  In the following video, Chris talks about never being afraid to over communicate with your audience during a crisis:

 

In light of the recent crisis that Toyota is going through, do you think they should follow GM's path in this regard?
